Keith Olbermann's great.

*googles* Ah, this, I presume? I'll have to watch that, too.

Yep, that comment...
surprised it's still up, since last time I tried to link to a special comment of his it was unfindable on the web (except in the podcast archive naturally) within a day or two. Pity, since that one was very good... about how moving "forward" - our catchword of the day here - meant prosecuting past torturers, not just promising not to commit future crimes...
As to this comment, I think I see what you mean !

Re: Yep, that comment...
*noddles* Well, it *has* been less than two days - I'm not sure at which time it aired originally, of course, but it appears to have been on the 21st, so if you assume it was in the evening, then it can barely have been 36 hours or so ago.

I'd imagine they'd leave these videos up until the next "Special Comment" is done, at least - but given that they show you ads[1] beforehand, I also don't see why they'd necessarily want to take these videos down later on. :)

But yeah, the comment was good, too, as you'd expect from Keith.

1. Which I don't mind in this case, actually - ads from foreign nations, for products and companies that you don't have, are often amusing or interesting rather than annoying. :)

Re: Yep, that comment...
two-year-almost later response to this comment: not surprisingly, have received a number of further replies to this post... all, if I remember, commercial spam, one in Russian. have deleted and reported them, but ... still... :)

hope all is well by you. the post itself saddens me considering, since Keith has left his program.

learned how to install LilyPond on my Mac without depending on the people at Fink- more because they have executables downloadable onsite than because of anything I did - and am enjoying using it again (though I have Fink up and running again too. Have uploaded a typeset to IMSLP of parts to a string quintet movement from manuscript - mentioned on my Facebook. Working on extraction of parts from a quartet by Strässer/Straesser. :) ) Anyhow. Cheers!

Heya — yeah, still doing OK here, all in all.

Mmm, good to hear that you're still using Lilypond, too! I think the 2.14 release is drawing closer, too; they've had a number of release candidates, so with any luck, there should be a final release some time soon (for certain values of "soon", anyway).

Nice to hear from you again. :)

Re: Yep, that comment...
likewise. it's been interesting experimenting with it- there's a violinist in England who plays all parts of a string quartet, multitracking the recording using his computer and uploading the same to imslp.org sometimes - sometimes I suggest pieces to him and he'll play them. Some of the works I have MIDIs of here he's now made the first 'human recordings' of - much better, of course. I'm extracting the parts from the score of a piece - string quartet no.4 (1920) in E minor, etc. ... - using Lilypond (slowly, for a couple of reasons) in case he might want to play it too- he's already uploaded something else (first string quartet) by the composer (Ewald Strässer/Straesser (1867-1933) - see http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Straesser,_Ewald for what information we have on him so far. The first quartet sounded good to me :) ... amusing, too...)

Re: Yep, that comment...
erm. anyway, more to the point, since it's obvious I'm falling asleep :)... all this practice is teaching me more about Lilypond, which is a good thing. the new versions can be installed directly without Fink, which is even better. so, having fun. :)! also, reading Stephen Donaldson's latest (sort of), volunteering more, and keeping busy. need to keep current more though with what goes on with all. many thanks and best!

Re: Yep, that comment...
Heh, no worries about keeping current. Living life is more important than documenting it!

That said, I'm glad you're getting more into Lilypond, as it were. The team just put out a second release candidate, too, and said that if there were no reasons not to, the final (initial) 2.14 release would be put out later this month.

Volunteering's good, too. :) All the best to you, too!
